On July 24-25, 2024, the Forum on Promoting Participation in Association Organizations was held at the Office of the Duc Trong Association of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), with the participation of representatives from 10 PWD Associations in Lam Dong: Dalat, Duc Trong, Bao Loc, Bao Lam, Lam Ha, Binh Thanh Commune, Da Teh, Don Duong, Di Linh, and the Lam Dong Provincial PWD Association.
Promoting participation is an important foundation to create conditions and opportunities for persons with disabilities to integrate and fully participate in social and community activities. Through this, the value and meaning of the Association's existence are highlighted, because only those who share the same circumstances can truly understand and support one another. This may be part of the reason why PWD Associations are all founded by individuals with physical impairments themselves. Within the Association, PWDs can integrate, share, learn, work, develop themselves, be loved, as well as build families and have children just like anyone else.
During the first session of the forum, members reviewed the activities the association had carried out over the past period, reflected on the implementation process, and assessed the level of participation of its members. In addition, the difficulties in calling for members' participation in collective activities were also highlighted.
