FALL SEASON 2026 – LIVING WATER:
TOGETHER TAKE CARE OF THE SOURCE OF LIFE
When water is no longer just a stream
Every day, we still turn on the faucet, water the plants, drink a glass of water and see the streams and rivers flowing through our homeland.
Water is so present that we sometimes forget that it is one of the most basic gifts of life.
In the prayer for the 2026 Season of Creation, we are invited to thank God for the gift of water, the source of our common home, which nourishes trees, all species, land and people. Each drop of water is also seen as a sacred witness to God's love for creation.
From there, the theme "Living Water" becomes a special invitation for each person in this year's Season of Creation.
“Living Water” – an invitation to return to life
The Season of Creation 2026 is celebrated from September 1 to October 4. This year's theme is "Living Water", with the symbol "Immerse yourself in Living Water", inspired by the book of Prophet Ezekiel 47,9.12.
Water is a sign of life and grace. Therefore, protecting water sources is also protecting the lives of humans and all species.
This is not just an environmental story.
It is also a story about how we recognize what God has given us, about human responsibility for the common home and about a way of life that moves from exploiting to caring, from possessing to sharing.
When we ourselves become part of the problem
The Season of Creation prayer reminds us to look honestly at what is going on.
We have treated the gift of water like a commodity. Garbage chokes the sea. Global warming leads to rising water flows. The lands are dry and cracked, while many people have to leave their homeland because of climate changes.
Faced with that reality, the Season of Creation not only invites us to pray for nature.
The Season of Creation also invites us to reform our lives.
Because if everyone waits for someone to change first, the flow of life will increasingly dry up.
But if each person starts from their own responsibility, small changes can connect into a great flow of hope.
Live the Season of Creation with concrete things
Caritas Da Lat invites the Diocesan community to live the Season of Creation with practical actions.
First of all, use and protect water sources. Save water, reduce pollution, limit plastic waste and contribute to ensuring a nutritious and safe food source for everyone.
Educate from family to community. Parents, seminaries and communities can help the young generation understand that caring for creation is not a distant task, but begins with very ordinary everyday choices.
Plant trees and restore ecosystems around you. A tree planted at important milestones in the life of faith such as Baptism, Confirmation or burial can become a beautiful sign of continued life. At the same time, each family and parish can work together to protect biodiversity where they live.
And take time to admire the beauty of creation.
When we know how to stop in front of a forest, a stream, a garden or a rainstorm, we can realize that nature is not simply something to be used.
Creation is a gift.
And that gift needs to be received with gratitude, cared for with responsibility and passed on to future generations.
From a drop of water comes a stream of hope
Maybe one person saving a little water won't change the world.
Just one family reducing plastic use cannot solve the entire pollution problem.
A parish planting a few more rows of trees cannot restore all the damaged ecosystems.
But every action has meaning.
Because big changes often start from very small things that many people do together.
Caritas Da Lat's appeal letter reminds that every small action contributes to nurturing hope and building a sustainable future for future generations.
And just like a small stream of water can find its way to a big river, the small actions of each person can together create a new flow for the community.
Let's "immerse ourselves in Living Water"
In our prayer for the Season of Creation, we ask God to awaken in us the call to care for water sources, preserve river basins, protect water rights and respect the dignity of those who are thirsty.
That is also an invitation for each of us to enter this year's Season of Creation with a new mindset.
Don't just pray for a better world.
But also become part of the change.
It's not just about protecting creation.
It starts with taking care of a stream, a piece of land, a tree, a garden and the community in which we live.
Don't just think about the present.
But know how to live responsibly with future generations.
Caritas Da Lat invites Fathers, Priests, Communities, Grandparents and Brothers and Sisters to live together in the Season of Creation 2026, so that from today's small actions, Living Water continues to flow, bringing life, peace and hope to humans and all creation.
Season of Creation 2026 – Living Water.
Let's take care of the source of life. Let's preserve our common home together. Let life flow together.
