For this reason, during this trip to Vung Tau, Caritas Dalat hoped to strengthen solidarity, love, and mutual understanding among the group members, to learn more about each other's families, and at the same time, to foster a deeper connection within each family of the Reintegration Group.
The journey began in the early morning of September 6, starting from Lam Ha, and then picking up additional members in Di Linh and Bao Loc.
Our first stop was the Shrine of Our Lady of Nui Cui in Dong Nai, where we prayed together, entrusting our desires for peace to Her. Continuing our journey to Vung Tau, we visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Bai Dau, a famous pilgrimage site in the coastal city. Gazing at the vast blue sea from above, everyone could feel the immense peace and grandeur of creation. Although we could not swim in the sea due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, everyone was still able to enjoy the sunset, walk along the beach at night in the square, and share a warm dinner together. Some members shared: "This is the first time we've had an activity like this, it's truly joyful!"
The second day began with a radiant sunrise over the sea. The entire group boarded the bus to head to the Statue of Christ the King, famous for its challenging climb of over 1,000 steps. For Catholics, this is a must-visit pilgrimage site, where from the summit, one can take in a panoramic view of the beautiful city of Vung Tau.
Everyone was deeply moved, saying: "I don't know when we will have another chance to travel together with our siblings and children like this!" or "How long has it been since we had the opportunity to go on a trip with our family like this?"
Indeed! No matter how wide the sea, how deep the river, or how vast the world may be, the place we always want to stay and return to is our family. For there is no place as peaceful as home, and family is something sacred that no words can fully describe. Perhaps health issues, the daily struggle for food and money, or unresolved misunderstandings weighing heavily upon us have caused divisions, making us forget that everything we do is for our family and for family happiness. We spend too little time with our loved ones, and it is through trips like this that we realize how long it has been—or if we have ever—taken a rest together with our family, our siblings, our children, our spouses, and our parents. Each person will have their own questions and answers. For family is the place to return to; the care and love within each family will help heal every wounded heart, serving as a sanctuary where we find peace after the chaotic worries of the world outside.
Seeing the joyful faces when we are together, we know that we are never alone in this life. Holding hands, rejoicing, playing, eating, and exploring a new land together have helped us understand one another better and bond more deeply. Witnessing the joy within each family is also a source of happiness, encouragement, and spiritual motivation for each staff member who has been dedicated to this Reintegration Group throughout the years.
We are truly grateful for the efforts of each individual and thankful for the places we were able to set foot on, to know, and to have the opportunity to behold. Thank you for a safe journey and for all the blessings in God's grace!
