Da Lat, from October 28 - 30, 2025

In an atmosphere of communion and brotherhood, Caritas Diocese of Da Lat organized an in-depth study and exchange session with the topic "Protection and Safety Policy".

The three-day event was honored to welcome Caritas delegations from the Dioceses of Phu Cuong, Phan Thiet and Long Xuyen, creating an intimate, open and meaningful meeting space. The meeting was an opportunity for Caritas members to learn together and share practical experiences in social charity work, especially in building and implementing protection regulations appropriate to the specific context of each diocese.

The focus of the meeting focused on clarifying the multidimensionality and importance of the Protection Policy — a document that stipulates the principles, responsibilities and procedures to protect the dignity and comprehensive safety of children, women, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, as well as staff and volunteers from all forms of abuse, violence, exploitation or discrimination. This is not just a set of administrative regulations, but also Caritas' commitment to building a safe, transparent and respectful working environment for human dignity.

During the program, participants were introduced to the reasons and meaning of developing a Protection Policy within Caritas; background documents and key terms; How to identify vulnerable groups in the community; At the same time, jointly perform a SWOT analysis to identify potential risks and risks related to protection work. In particular, the Code of Conduct for employees of each organization was also discussed and developed during this training session, contributing to concretizing the principles of protection into practical standards of behavior in charity missions. Thanks to that, everyone has a clearer understanding of concepts, legitimate rights, and especially practical ways to proactively protect themselves in the process of carrying out their mission - which is an environment with many sensitive factors.

The inter-Diocese meeting not only helped improve professional capacity and awareness of the importance of the Protection Policy, but also tightened fraternal solidarity, demonstrating common determination in creating a safe, professional and transparent Caritas environment, worthy of being a witness of Christian Love in the heart of life. This activity is carried out at the request of sponsor Misereor, and meets the mandatory management standards of the Caritas International Management System (CIMS).
